Greedy Flappy Dragon
24 Nov 2025 - Updated for LGN November Jam - Theme of Revisit!
- Updated controls to allow for HOLD / TAP [SPACE] to fly and also Mouse Button 0 which is left click.
- Added a title and end screen. Added best score.
- Added VFX on hit and collect
- Updated with better patterns and difficulty scaling!
Overall Easier time getting into the game and flying around as a dragon. Let me know what you think of the current game feel.
-------------------------------------------------------
A Greedy Dragon that likes to flap like a certain bird tries to dodge tornadoes while collecting the treasure within!
Controls:
Press [SPACE] to flap.
Tip - You'll have to keep pressing multiple times to get the dragon to fly upwards. Release to have the dragon glide down (dev note: more like drop now)

Made for the LGN August Game Jam (https://itch.io/jam/lgn-august-jam).
Theme was ACCUMULATE.
So I wanted to make a game in Unreal Engine which is a 3D dragon trying to hoard all the gold. But I overscoped for Unreal Engine. As such, back to Unity Game Engine for now!
Perhaps I can do a RTX ON and RTX Off meme later once the 3D Unreal Version is up.
Dev Notes
Didn't have much time this week to really sink my teeth into this development. So here's a simple game. I think it has quite a lot of room for improvement. One thing I really want to play with is a rougelike power system for the Dragon - so that after collecting enough points, the dragon levels up and you get more abilities / power. Then later the world also changes / there's more enemies etc.

GenAI Sound:
ElevenLabs Music and SFX Generator was used for prototyping the sounds as I wanted to try out their generation features.
GenAI Code: This project is fully coded by ChatGPT and Copilot! It's part of my PhD research. Also that's why the game kind of sucks compared to my other games. Without human input, the agents aren't very good at designing game feels - that is too qualitative. Also due to token limitations of my plan, they lose context ALOT. Like it's worse than an intern. Seriously. I don't recommend pulling your hair out using coding agents, just code it yourself, it's faster and less stressful. Unless you like the intern simulator experience....
